Volunteer Opportunities

In conjunction with your course there are also opportunities for you to partake in therapeutic work with clients. These opportunities are in no way compulsory but will help you in your ambitions in health and social care work.

Benefits of practical work
As you may be able to imagine its all well and good completing a course on the theory of becoming and practising of your chosen health and social care worker but what is it that makes you a well formed professional? Practising your newly found skills is vital for you to become a safe and competent practitioner. Many criticise people who have completed home study courses in this area due to lack of hands on and practical training, in choosing to partake in this practical work you are receiving what some fear you may lack.

Phone Support
To be allocated a client to speak to for up to an hour once a week, with an aim of providing emotional and practical support.

Internet Support
After receiving training on the software you will have the opportunity to speak with clients who are in need of your support. This is a great opportunity to assess the benefits and disadvantages of Online Support. You will need to have access to the internet for this service.
